T-WIST Technical Street Register is designed for detailed road-related data administration. Basic functionality of the application includes entering, updating, searching and deleting of the data or their attributes. Advanced functions are: management of user rights, interconnection to GIS map project, spatial data editing, attribute data export (to CSV, XLS, XML, XHTML) and table data export (to SHP and DBF). The application also provides its users with tools to store and manage the data on road owners and administrators, visualize other thematic data or plan the road maintenance.
The register's map project is created and managed using T-MapServer. T-MapServer (developed by T-MAPY) allows direct editing of all main types of geometrical elements. The map application is equipped with many tools and functions that make users every day work easier: the possibility to change map selection area while editing the data, additional changes in objects shape, vertexes, attributes etc. Object description can be altered simultaneously with geometrical shape editing. Users editing options are managed by user rights on individual feature or entire entry level.
The main advantages of T-WIST solution are:
- user friendly interface: all that authorized user needs to work with the application is basic PC with internet/intranet connection and standard web browser
- flexible data access: access to the data is managed by multi level user rights, these rights can be defined for the application as a whole or its individual parts
- fast data editing: while editing data many of the attribute values are filled out automatically, these values can be adjusted to fit users need by application manager
- uniform data source: data gathered in the application can be used by unlimited number of organization employees while selected information can be presented to the public
- open-source technologies utilization: attribute data are primarily stored in an SQL database (PostgreQSL), in some cases in an Oracle database; graphical data are stored in a PostGIS database or an Oracle database
- integration with GIS: visualization on the data, graphical data editing is performed directly in a map client
- complete documentation of the objects: photo and other additional object documentation can be stored in the register
- data model compatibility: the web application is fully compatible with desktop application GKomPas (extension to GISel/GISelPro)
