T-MapServer represents an easy-to-use, powerful and customizable technology that allows its users to build completely outsourced map system to present their geographic data and other information. T-MapServer can run on customer’s as well as T-MAPY’s server, users have a secured remote access to it. Selected parts of the system can be accessed by the public without password protection.

T-MapServer provides users with many tools ranging from zoom in/out, pan and search to professional tools for performing spatial analyses, geographic selections, advanced viewing and many other tasks. The application‘s communication interface enables bidirectional interaction between the map and other parts of users’ information system, applications, documents, web pages etc.

User environment – map clients

T-MapServer provides several types of map clients:

• GIS client using frames
• HTML client without frames
• AJAX client based on new web technology

These map clients can be adjusted according to customer’s needs. It is also possible to create a special (individual) map client for customers with special requirements. The map content, tools and functions are managed by user rights, so different users (or groups of users) can have access to different maps and tools while working with the same map project.

GIS client is intended for users with higher requirements on their work with a map. In this client control of the map is similar to desktop GIS programs - the user can switch on/off map layers, choose from a number of tools and functions, create new data by drawing in the map window etc. GIS client requires more technical skills from its users than HTML map client.

Html client is intended for users who want to work with the map as simply as possible (like with any other web page). This type of map client is especially suitable for map systems published on the Internet with free public access.

AJAX client is a new type of a map client intended for public users. Since the individual parts of the web page can be changed independently the work with the map seems smoother and faster. It also features new modern user interface.
