The map service continues utilizing our
IFRMMap service and its latest version was modified to cater for the basic requirements that the current Internet map viewing trends demand. The most important changes include
a change in the map size that smoothly adapts to the size of the browser window thus utilizes the space to maximum. When working with the map now, you will notice
faster control speed and data download; also, the movement in the map can be now achieved by a simple mouse drag that allows you to get directly to the desired place in the map. The option to delineate a specific land area of interest remains, but you must hold the CTRL key down now while dragging the mouse. The mouse wheel controls the map scale (zoom-in/zoom-out) and the scale can also be changed by a left double click (zoom-in) or right double click (zoom-out). Such are the new trends in the Internet map viewing. The resulting service allows you to work with the map considerably faster and your search for places in the map is now more convenient .
The route planner that utilizes the
ROUTE CZE-SVK service (please, see more information below) has also undergone major changes and its current version enables easy entries of the “from”, “where”, and “through” places (a specific street address can be entered, which can come very handy when users need to get their bearings in big cities). The search results are displayed in a well-arranged itinerary that lists all important points lying on the route; the listings are linked to a quick map overview that displays the changes in driving directions (turn right, turn left,…) and directional signs (help to get driver’s bearings). The window of course shows the distance between places on the route and estimated travel time between points on the route together with the total distance and time information.
